Welcome to MIC 2025

The 5th Multidisciplinary International Conference

  • RASIONALE

In an increasingly complex and digitized era of globalization, public governance faces multidimensional challenges that transcend national borders. Climate change, socio-economic inequality, technological disruption, geopolitical crises, and the long-term effects of the global pandemic have all revealed the limitations of conventional governance models, which often remain sectoral and fragmented. These global developments demand a fundamental transformation in how governance systems are designed, managed, and understood models that are more adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable. These global challenges are particularly visible. While some regions continue to play a central role in driving economic growth and technological advancement, it also faces deep and persistent governance issues.  Legal frameworks are being tested by the rise of digital technologies, requiring new thinking around data governance, AI regulation, and access to justice. Environmental degradation, uneven democratic transitions, political polarization, and widening digital inequality reflect structural gaps that affect public service delivery and institutional legitimacy.

At the same time, the growing use of artificial intelligence, big data, and digital platforms in public use offers both opportunities for innovation and complex dilemmas. Contemporary issues such as the integration of AI in policy-making, the exploitation of data in public service delivery, and the tension between economic and ecological priorities require knowledge-based, interdisciplinary responses. Education systems are under pressure to respond to digital transformation, reduce learning gaps, and prepare students for a constantly evolving world. Meanwhile, healthcare providers face growing demands for services, the ethical use of health data, and the need to build systems that are both equitable and resilient. These are not challenges that can be addressed through single-discipline or domestic frameworks alone. What is needed is global dialogue and collaboration that draws upon diverse fields of expertise and shared international experience.

MIC 2025 builds on the legacy of previous conferences, MIC 2021, MIC 2022, MIC 2023, and MIC 2024, which have served as important platforms for research, policy dialogue, and international cooperation. This year’s conference seeks to expand those efforts by encouraging deeper interdisciplinary collaboration and more inclusive global conversations on the future of governance. With the theme “Transforming Governance through Interdisciplinary Synergy for Global Welfare,” MIC 2025 emphasizes the importance of connecting diverse fields of knowledge. Hosted by a doctoral program in law, the conference highlights the critical role of legal scholarship in shaping governance that is ethical, accountable, and responsive to emerging global trends. At the same time, it creates space for dialogue among scholars and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines, including law, education, health, economics, technology, environmental science, sociology, and psychology.

By bringing together multiple perspectives and areas of expertise, MIC 2025 aims to generate actionable ideas and policy solutions that are human-centered and future-oriented. Whether through legal reform, educational and economical  innovation, stronger public health systems, or inclusive technological governance, the conference is committed to advancing governance practices that contribute to global well-being and sustainable development.

  • THEME

Transforming Governance through Interdisciplinary Synergy for Global Welfare

The theme of MIC 2025 underscores a fundamental rethinking of governance practices by harnessing interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance human well-being on a global scale. It recognizes that the complex problems faced by modern societies such as climate change, digital disruption, public health crises, political instability, economic inequality, and food insecurity cannot be resolved through single-discipline or siloed approaches. This theme calls upon scholars, practitioners, and institutions to:

  • Reimagine how governance is structured and implemented
  • Break disciplinary silos in solving public problems
  • Center governance around human needs, ethical values, and sustainable futures

Why “Transforming Governance”?

Governance in the 21st century is at a critical turning point. Traditional models, often hierarchical, linear, and rigid, struggle to cope with the rapidly changing landscape of societal needs and global interdependence. Transformation is no longer optional; it is a necessity. This involves not only policy innovation but also rethinking institutional design, legal frameworks, digital infrastructure, and public participation. Governance transformation implies new ways of decision-making that are more inclusive, transparent, data-informed, and accountable.

What is “Interdisciplinary Synergy”?

The term interdisciplinary synergy refers to the intentional integration of knowledge, tools, and approaches from multiple disciplines to address complex governance challenges. This synergy goes beyond collaboration; it seeks convergence: a fusion of perspectives that leads to novel insights and comprehensive solutions. For instance, regulating artificial intelligence requires legal, ethical, technical, and psychological considerations. Similarly, tackling climate change needs environmental science, policy design, and behavioral economics.

For “Global Welfare”

The ultimate goal of transforming governance is to achieve global welfare, a holistic concept that includes:

  • Human dignity and rights
  • Access to essential services (education, health, food, housing)
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Equity and inclusion
  • Collective resilience

Global welfare is not merely economic growth; it is the equitable distribution of well-being across nations, communities, and generations. It requires international cooperation, institutional innovation, and evidence-based policy rooted in empathy and justice
